Documentation of Disability
Current and complete documentation of the disability or disabilities must be submitted by the student to UCM Disability Services as part of the academic accommodation service(s) eligibility determination process. The university reserves the right to request supplemental information to verify a student's current functional limitations. Current documentation must have been issued within the last 3 years from the date a student submits a request for academic accommodations.
Documentation of disability must conform to published UC disability documentation guidelines and is required to establish and assess how a student's disability can be reasonably accommodated to ensure equal educational access within a postsecondary academic and campus life environment.
Generally speaking, documentation of disability that was used as part of an Individual Education Plan process under the IDEA of 2004 or IEP documents in and of themselves do not meet the documentation of disability guidelines and/or requirements of the University of California.
